The Carolina Hurricanes could look to trade one of their goalies for help in other areas ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline on April 12, general manager Don Waddell said in comments published by The Athletic on Friday

Alex Nedeljkovic and James Reimer have shared the goaltending since Petr Mrazek had surgery to repair a broken right thumb Feb. 3.

The Philadelphia Flyers are initiating conversations with other teams ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline on April 12.

"We're certainly not looking at selling right now," general manager Chuck Fletcher said Wednesday. "I would say to you in my calls with managers around the League, first of all, I've received very few calls. It's been really quiet in terms of receiving calls.

Patrick Marleau is open to a trade from the San Jose Sharks, the 41-year-old forward told The Athletic.

"I wouldn't actively maybe look for it, but if it does happen or it does come, or a team wants me, that's something you have to seriously consider," Marleau said in remarks published Sunday. "Obviously, that's still my goal, to win a Stanley Cup. It would definitely be something to consider."

Marleau can became an unrestricted free agent after this season and said he'd like to continue his NHL career.

Taylor Hall could be traded by the Buffalo Sabres prior to the NHL Trade Deadline on April 12, general manager Kevyn Adams said Wednesday.

The 29-year-old forward can become an unrestricted free agent after this season. He signed a one-year, $8 million contract with the Sabres on Oct. 11, 2020.

"We're open to anything and everything," Adams said. "My job is to do anything and everything to make this franchise move in the right direction. I have a very good relationship with (Hall's agent) Darren Ferris and Taylor. Open lines of communication and obviously days are moving forward here, so there will be a lot of conversations around that."

The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to be active prior to the NHL Trade Deadline and could target pending unrestricted free agents, general manager Kyle Dubas said Tuesday.

"It's a rare time where probably a rental is a better fit but that said, if it's something we feel can improve our team long term, we'll find a way to make it work," Dubas said.
